Born in Cologne, Germany, Kristina Kanders began to paint and make music at an early age. In 1987 she went to New York to study (Master of Arts Degree, Queens College, NYC). She stayed there for almost twenty years, gave international concerts and taught at New School University for eleven years. After her return to Cologne in 2005, she produced several CDs and videos. Since 2012, the focus of her work has shifted entirely to painting.
