Famous for his sumptuous paintings of glamorous women, in particular his recurring Jane Doe imagery, Rone's work attempts to pinpoint the friction between beauty and decay, the lavish and despoiled, creating an iconic form of urban art with a strongly emotional bent. Although many of his early works were done through stenciling or screen printing, Rone has progressed towards a more open and loose freehand style, which in turn has allowed for a certain inherent rawness to begin to seep into his recent work. |
