Born in 1974 in Tehran, Nasernia is one of the modern calligraphy painters that emerged in this field. As a graphic artist, and like many others during his time, he started with digital typography at Azad Art University, Tehran where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in graphic design and fine art. There, he absorbed an acute attention to form associated with modern typography and later developed a kind of vocabulary that emerged through his focus on deformation of letters and of intersection between graphic design, calligraphy and painting. In his recent work he has introduced figures and motives into his calligraphic narrative.
