Zoobs (real name Zubair Ansari) began his career working as a designer and photographer at a cosmetics company, and his own work is heavily influenced by that environment's theatrical aesthetic. His portraits of women incorporate props and digital manipulation, though the line between real and artificial is frequently unclear. Zoobs received great attention for his photographic collage God Save the Future Queen (2011), in which an aged Kate Middleton is placed against the British flag in a reference to the Sex Pistols' famous album cover.
